Stress this, stress that. Everyone’s talking about it. We all know it’s bad for us. But do we really understand the extent to which stress impacts our bodies negatively? And how the heck it happens?

This TED-Ed video perfectly illustrates how harmful chronic stress, i.e. life’s daily stressors like traffic and meetings, can cumulatively be over time. Long-term stress not only changes the brain’s structure, it can even change DNA. Even worse, these effects can be passed on to future generations.

But don’t panic, all this is reversible with exercise and mindfulness. Told you so.
