Expert Parenting Guidance through BCBAs

There is no rulebook for parenting and getting help for challenges at home can be time consuming, costly, and overwhelming. RethinkCare offers a scalable solution by providing working parents and caregivers worldwide with access to on-staff Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).

What is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)?

A BCBA is a graduate-level professional who specializes in the science of behavior. BCBAs work with people to help them reach meaningful goals through strategies involving positive reinforcement, breaking skills down into smaller steps, teaching skills in a way where they can be generalized and maintained across time and place, and more. BCBAs work in many settings, such as schools, clinics, homes, hospitals, workplaces, and more.

These masters and doctoral-level professionals consult with working parents and caregivers to understand a family’s specific challenges and provide personalized guidance through telephone or video-based sessions at no cost to the employee.

What specific behaviors can a BCBA help with?

While BCBAs are often known as clinicians who implement highly effective learning programs for children with autism, they can work with anyone with learning or behavior goals.

Examples of skills BCBAs can help with:

  • activities of daily living (e.g., potty training, dressing, eating, etc.)
  • independent and social play
  • language development
  • study skills
  • self-advocacy skills
  • focus and attention
  • and more.

BCBAs also help address behavioral challenges such as aggression or outbursts that may be preventing a person from living an independent and enjoyable life.

Children have at least one developmental disability

Why are on-staff BCBAs an advantage for your organization?

It can take more than a year for families to see a BCBA or receive related therapy through the traditional system such as health insurance. Other families without health insurance or a qualifying diagnosis may not be able to afford access to a BCBA because it is cost-prohibitive when paid for out-of-pocket.

RethinkCare enables families to get support in as little as two business days. Our on-staff BCBAs are available days, nights, and weekends, and partner with highly trained interpreters to conduct consultations in 180+ languages. RethinkCare values equity in access to parenting and caregiving support. Our personalized expertise helps address at-risk employees’ social determinants of health.

Prevalence is increasing. Treatment access is limited.
